Pera Logistics moves freight across the border between Mexico and the United States, crossing through Laredo, Texas. They connect shippers with a network of carriers and drivers experienced in cross-border work, handling the tracking, compliance, and routing that moving goods between two countries demands.
It is a business measured in throughput. The team tracks itself on the number of shipments it completes each month, which makes the speed of the work the thing that decides how much the company can take on.
For years that work ran on Google Sheets. Pera Logistics had automated it as far as spreadsheets allow, and it genuinely worked — right up until it had nowhere left to go.

Google Sheets hit its ceiling.
Google Sheets had carried Pera Logistics a long way. They had built their own semi-automated system inside it, and day to day it held up. The problem was that everything had to be shaped around the tool's limits rather than the way the business actually worked, and there was no way to build on top of what they had.
By the time they came to us, the team was close to maxed out. They measure themselves on shipments completed each month, and with the people they had and the tools they were using, that number had nearly stopped moving.
The first attempt at a fix was monday.com, and we were the team setting it up. We rebuilt their spreadsheet inside it and quickly hit the same kind of ceiling — it was an upgrade on Sheets, but not enough of one to justify moving an entire operation across.
Custom software was the obvious answer, and Pera Logistics had already priced it. Every firm they spoke to quoted roughly ten times the money and ten times the timeline we did, which had put the idea out of reach for a company their size.
